The Crane M2S is great. I have the Crane 3S and it’s like a smaller version of it for me so carrying it out for smaller gigs is much easier. I get the same controls and feel but now I have options to go big or small if I’m shooting scenes for a movie or just getting BTS for a video shoot.
I'm using this gimbal with a Sony a7IV - while it is too much weight and doesn't balance, I needed the smallest and lightest gimbal available, that would give me a few stabilized shots when hiking, etc.. This thing packs so well and works great for what I need.
However, I had to find a workaround to make it arca swiss compatible. It would be super easy to just make the base plate arca swiss compatible and let us change from tripod to slider to whatever else I need. Pretty, pretty, pretty please add that to the next iteration.
I even thought about adding the M3 to my list of many gimbals, but since it doesn't have that compatibility either, I won't.
This is my first time getting a camera stabilizer. I really love this device! I can get the shots I have been trying to get for a while and this helps keep it clean and professional. It takes a while to get used to but it does the job for a great price!
Love the look and the bag it comes in. My only concern is in the calibration for an iPhone 13 pro max. The crane does not seem to be able to support my device with accessories as well as I had hoped. I would recommend going with the M3 instead just bc of this inconvenience. Without lenses and a cage on the iPhone the M2s is able to handle the iPhone just fine with few automatic shutdowns during recording sessions.
